Coach Reese Slobodianuk

Through a lifelong passion of physical activity, I draw upon years of running, cycling, strength training, and skateboarding experience to craft a unique perspective on the physical and mental aspects of ultra endurance. To complement my own ultra-endurance pursuits, I graduated the University of Milwaukee with a B.S. in Kinesiology and a nutritional minor. After university, I spent time as an NASM certified personal trainer with the Wisconsin Athletic Club where I honed my skills teaching individuals of all backgrounds proper lifting mechanics in order to enhance their athletic functioning. I enjoy designing science-backed training programs that aim to enhance athletic performance in the short term as well as the long. Running has so many lessons to teach us - about ourselves and the world around us.

My Coaching Philosophy :
Training is Playing and playing is Fun! What do all endurance phenoms have in common? You guessed it, they are having fun with their training and treat it as a form of emotional, physical, and spiritual release. Keep the mind and body happy and they will allow you to unleash a deep potential that you never thought possible! My first principle is to chase the fun in your training and approach every day with a curious-appreciation for what you and your body can accomplish.

After having fun, I believe a solid training program rooted in the principles of periodization and race-specificity are key. I am feverishly-fascinated with looking at an athlete's goals and developing a long, medium, and short term workout-plan to enhance event performance. Whether racing or adventuring, these events are major life accomplishments, and a solid plan can undoubtedly bring further enjoyment when looking back at a lifetime of accomplishment.

Highlighting all of this is my holistic appreciation for being a human being. We are all tipping the scales and balancing the myriad of responsibilities that are inherent with a fulfilling life. Training should add positivity and further compliment our life-experiences.
